JOIN THE SOCIETY
Scunthorpe Musical Theatre Society are always encouraging new members, if you're over 16 and wish to join our society, please read the following information to find out how!
We are an amateur musical theatre society associated with the National Operatic Dramatic Association (NODA). We are always looking for both performing and non-performing members to help with things like costumes, prompt and behind the scenes!
We currently run one main production a year which means our rehearsal schedule works on that basis.
We start rehearsals in September (this is when we audition for the company too!) and in the beginning we require your commitment every Tuesday from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. Dependent on requirements this can increase in November to Sunday afternoon rehearsals too. Depending on your role within the production, we may increase your rehearsal schedule to include Thursday evenings leading up to the performance which is the first week of March.

Membership info
In order to perform in our productions, you need to become a member of the society. Membership is paid as an annual fee at the start of the season and must be paid before auditioning for a part in the March production. This is usually in the first couple of weeks of September.
Membership fees
Adult- £45
Child/Student/Over 60- £35
Non-Performing Member - £20
All new members will need to do a new member audition- this involves singing a couple of bars of music, reading and short script and occasionally learning a very small bit of movement. These will also take place before the main show auditions.
